NANO X™ is a vision for a new generation of intelligent fashion—where advanced materials, technology and beautiful design become one. Its first expression is the NanoSkirt™: a remarkably light, soft and sophisticated garment conceived to transform its color and appearance on demand.

Through a simple smartphone experience, NANO X is being designed to give the wearer the ability to select colors, patterns and looks in seconds. The ambition extends far beyond a conventional color-changing fabric. NANO X envisions an intelligent textile platform in which the technology disappears into the garment itself. No visible electronics. No obvious machinery. Just beautiful fashion that can respond, adapt and transform.

NANO X begins with a simple idea: your clothing should be able to do more.

We envision future NANO X garments incorporating advanced capabilities such as programmable color and pattern, illumination for nighttime visibility, motion and environmental sensing, adaptive warming and cooling, wrinkle resistance and easier-care surfaces. Longer term, intelligent fibers could potentially allow garments to alter not only their appearance, but elements of their fit, drape and silhouette.

Energy is part of the vision as well. NANO X Labs will explore ultra-low-power electronics, energy harvesting and next-generation storage—including solar and kinetic technologies—with the ultimate objective of creating garments that require remarkably little external power and may someday help power other personal devices.

What if one extraordinary garment could replace five, ten or eventually dozens of conventional ones?

Rather than treating sustainability simply as a different material, NANO X approaches it as a different model of consumption: make one garment more useful, more adaptable, more durable and more desirable. We envision recyclable materials, reduced cleaning requirements, longer useful life and, ultimately, localized manufacturing that brings production closer to the people who wear the product.
